Gunnar was born in Iceland and was drawn to sports at an early age and eventually followed his older brother into competitive Ballroom dancing at the age of 10. Quickly Gunnar rose up the ranks and in the next 10 years, he won 13 Icelandic Championships and represented his country multiple times at Blackpool, European and World Championships.
Dancing opened up some other opportunities, such as TV appearances, modeling and theater work such as: National production of Grease in Iceland and Chorus line in Springfield, MA.
At the age of 20, dancing brought Gunnar to the USA, where he met his wife and partner Daryll and they started their dancing journey.
Gunnar is a silver lining kind of person, who loves to bring the best out of people, and it shows in his work with his Nationally recognized competitive students, DWTS fundraising shows, youth sport coaching and training professional dancers.

Jayden Leighty is from Springfield, Massachusetts and started ballroom dancing when his grandmother had just beaten breast cancer and wanted to get back to the things that she loved doing.
She wanted to start taking dance lessons with her 14-year-old grandson (Jayden at the time) and little did he know that what he was doing was going to be a huge part of his life in the future.
The pivotal point that got him hooked on ballroom dancing was when he and his grandmother went to a competition banquet and they watched the pro show.
From that point on he knew that this was for him.
He knows that God has his whole life planned out for him, and he knows that he’s following in God’s will with what he does and what decisions he makes. He is so grateful that through dance he’s able to encourage, promote confidence and produce excitement in others.
Jayden is currently pursuing his professional dancing and loves to share his experiences and knowledge with his students.
